Concept design and site plan of a hotel to accommodate a number of high class rooms. A distinctive facade was desired by owner to attract occupants. Maximum utilization of the site was desired with the provision of the required facilities. A penthouse to serve as the owner's family was to be integrated into the design.
The evolved concept owes itself to the ample sizing of the hotel rooms. Based on the optimum sizes provided by the latest edition of the Hotel Code, room sizes were developed into working areas. Because the direct sunlight exposure of the bedrooms was not desired, east and west facing windows were shunned. As dictated by the orientation, triangular balconies were incorporated at the building's front and rear; responsive such that the harsh early morning sun and late afternoon both strike solid walls. Angled windows are not too exposed at critical times during the day. The resulting effect is an oblique modular facade. All exterior wall finishing are all simple painted plaster. All interior walls were painted plaster using light pastel colors.
